The KDC Dance Competition is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday and will feature a variety of categories for professional and amateur dancers, including Couples, Teams, Soloists, Duets, and Trios.
TYPES OF DANCE
The dance categories are divided into the following groups:
Latin-Standard (includes all Latin and Ballroom, Argentine Tango, Salsa, Bachata, Latin Fit, and Showdance).
Street Dance (includes Hip-Hop, Commercial, K-Pop, Break Dance, Dance Hall, Reggaeton, High Heels, Disco Dance, Street Dance Show, Cheerleading).
Performing Arts (includes Contemporary, Ballet, Jazz/Lyrical, Modern-Acro Fit, Oriental, Tribal Fusion, Bollywood, Musical, Folk Dance, Flamenco, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Show Dance).
AGE DIVISION:
*The above age classifications only apply to the Latin & Ballroom categories. All other types of dance are divided into Kids, Juveniles, Juniors, Youth, Adults, and Seniors.
A Quick Guide: Here's a breakdown of the rules for dance and age categories. Levels: All dance and age categories are divided into Beginner and Advanced levels. Advanced Competitors: May compete in the next age category. They are automatically disqualified from the Beginner categories.
(A) Pre-championship Competitors: Those dancing in a category for the first time. Have the option to dance in the next age category, but must remain in a (A) Pre-championship level for that category. Violation of this rule will result in the dancer automatically being moved to the last position.
Note 1:
In the Duo and Couples categories, the oldest defines the age category in which they will participate.
Note 2 - GROUPS / Large (Mega) Groups:
In groups of up to 7 people, 1 person can be older.
In groups of 8 to 13 people, 2 people may be older.
In groups of 14 to 19 people, 4 people may be older.
In groups of 20+ people, 5 people may be older.
*The older should be one class older than the class they are competing in. For example, in a Juvenile I category of 6 people, a dancer may be Juvenile II in age but not Junior I.
In adult groups (Groups Adults, excluding Duo & Trio) consisting of at least 4 people, only one of them can be a teacher.
Note 3:
The age category is determined by the athlete's year of birth.
All athletes in Mini Kids, Juvenile I, Juvenile II, Junior I, Junior II, I and Youth categories must have proof of date of birth with them!
Note 4:
In the categories Juvenile I & Juvenile II, Junior I & Junior II, Youth & Adult, there must be at least 3 entries; otherwise, they will be merged accordingly.
Note 5:
Each Solo category is entitled to upgrade up to one age category above, but at the same dance level. Ex: Solo (A) Pre-championship Junior can also declare Solo (A) Pre-championship Youth, just as Solo Youth can also declare Solo Adult.
***NEW CATEGORΥ: Dancing Stories 2025: Legends Reborn | Theme: Myths, legends, and folk tales from around the world come to life on stage. From ancient gods to traditional folklore.
Key Element:
